New Rurouni Kenshin Anime Announced For 2023

Rurouni Kenshin, the action-packed romantic comedy anime series created by Nobuhiro Watsuki, will receive a new animation in 2023.

Liden Films will provide the animation for the anime series. Staff, cast, and a new promotional video have all been revealed.

The brand-new details were revealed on September 24 during Aniplex Online Fest 2022. In the new anime adaptation, Soma Saito (previously James Moriarity, Tatsumi)

 will portray Kenshin Himura and Rie Takahashi (previously Emilia, Megumin) will portray Kaoru Kamiya.

The anime is being directed by Liden Films' Hideyo Yamamoto. Terumi Nishii is in charge of character design, while Hideyuki Kurata composes the series.

The music's producer is Yu Takami. Both of the main characters are seen in a recently released video.

Weekly Shonen Jump magazine ran the Rurouni Kenshin manga in serial form from 1994 to 1999.

 The sequel manga Rurouni Kenshin: The Hokkaido Arc, which has seven volumes so far, is published by the same publisher.

 Kaworu Kurosaki, Watsuki's wife, writes it as he draws it. The sequel was postponed from December 2017 to June 2018 following Watsuki's arrest.

Weekly Shonen Jump magazine ran the Rurouni Kenshin manga in serial form from 1994 to 1999.
